Xinzhou Teachers University (忻州师范学院, website) is a provincial full-time undergraduate college located in Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province. The predecessor of the college can be traced back to Xinxian Teachers College, which was founded in 1958. It was renamed Xinzhou Teachers College in 1984. In 1998, it merged with Xinzhou Regional Education College, Xinzhou Workers College, and Shanxi Radio and Television University Xinzhou Branch to form Xinzhou Teachers College. In 2000, approved by the Ministry of Education, Xinzhou Teachers College and Xinzhou Teachers College merged to form Xinzhou Teachers College. The college is the first batch of state-level “training model innovation experimental zones” determined by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance; it was awarded the honorary title of “National Advanced Unit for” Two Basic Work “by the State Council.
Xinzhou Teachers University has 26 teaching units and 43 undergraduate majors (19 in teacher education and 24 in non-teaching majors), covering 8 disciplines including law, teaching, literature, history, science, engineering, management, and art.
