Introduction to Jinggangshan University
Jinggangshan University (井冈山大学, JGSU, website) is supported by the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province and the Ministry of Education. It is a full-time comprehensive university which covers undergraduate education, postgraduate education, and international student education.
The university was founded in 1958 in the city of Ji’an, Jiangxi Province, where the Chinese revolutionary cradle Jinggangshan was located. The university has 4 campuses, with a campus area of 2,454 acres and a subsidiary hospital.
The university has 15 colleges and 3 management colleges, with 80 undergraduate majors, covering 11 disciplines including economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, and art. Category. There are 95 graduate students in the university; since 2007, foreign students have been enrolled, and there are 508 international students from 29 countries;
There are 1078 teachers in the university, including 130 professors and 374 associate professors; 286 doctoral teachers and 713 master’s degree teachers. The university has been approved by the National Social Science Fund, the National Natural Science Foundation, the National Science and Technology Support Program, and the National Major Projects, including 97 national-level scientific research projects, 296 provincial-level scientific research projects, and 1 Jiangxi Provincial Academic Leadership Training Program. The teacher published more than 2,000 academic papers, more than 400 articles by SCI, EI, and ISTP, and published more than 100 academic monographs and textbooks. More than 100 intellectual property achievements were approved.
The university insists on opening up schools to the world; the internationalization level is steadily improving. The university has cooperated with domestic universities including Tongji University, Wuhan University, Renmin University of China, Xiamen University, Shanghai Institute of Physical Education, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, and Guilin University of Technology etc. It has established cooperative relations with 53 colleges and universities in more than 20 countries (regions) including the United States, Britain, Russia, South Korea and Japan. Since 2015, 182 students have been selected to participate in long-term and short-term projects outside the country.

About the City
Located in the center of Jiangxi Province, Ji’an city lies both sides of the Gan River. The city is about 250 kilometers south of the provincial capital of Nanchang. It is a major center for red tourism in the People’s Republic of China, where the Jinggangshan National Scenic Area is located drawing large numbers of domestic tourists especially in the summer.
