Introduction to Jiangxi Medical College
Jiangxi Medical College was formerly the Fifth Medical School of Jiangxi Province, founded in 1951, renamed Shangrao Health School in 1953, and founded Shangrao Medical College on the basis of health school in 1958. It was renamed Gandongbei Medical College in 1959, 1978 The Jiangxi Provincial People’s Government approved the establishment of Shangrao Branch of Jiangxi Medical College. In March 2013, the Jiangxi Provincial People’s Government approved the establishment of Jiangxi Medical College.
Jiangxi Medical College has a Sanjiang Campus and a Shuyuan Road Campus, covering an area of 866 acres (of which 423 acres are currently under construction and 443 acres are newly acquired), with a construction area of over 200,000 square meters. The total value of school equipment is more than 52 million yuan; the library has a collection of 430,000 paper books, more than 1 million electronic books, and about 500 Chinese and foreign periodicals. The school enrolls students in 28 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions nationwide, and currently has 11,170 students from colleges and technical secondary schools. Jiangxi Medical College attaches great importance to the construction of the teaching staff. There are currently 688 staff members, including 322 full-time teachers.
