Introduction to Hebei University of Architecture
Hebei University of Architecture (河北建筑工程学院) is a full-time general university in Hebei Province. It is an institution approved by the State Council with the right to grant master’s and bachelor’s degrees. The school was founded in 1950. After nearly 70 years of construction and development, the school has become a distinctive higher education institution with a major in the disciplines of the construction industry and supporting the coordinated development of engineering, management, science, literature and art.
The university is located in Zhangjiakou, covering an area of 1032 acres and a building area of 287,700 square meters. There are 716 faculty members, including 586 full-time teachers, 321 with senior titles, and 487 teachers with doctoral and master degrees. At present, there are 11,254 full-time master’s, undergraduate and junior college students, and more than 9,000 continuing education students.
Hebei University of Architecture includes the School of Architecture and Art, the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Energy and Environmental Engineering, the School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of Electrical Engineering, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Information Engineering, the College of Science, the School of Foreign Languages, the Department of Information Management, the Humanities and Social Sciences There are 12 secondary colleges, including the Department of Education, the College of Adult Education, and the three teaching departments of the Graduate School, the Social Science Department, and the Sports Department. There are modern education technology center, architectural design research institute and 11 research institutes, 36 teaching experiment centers (rooms), and 81 off-campus practice bases. The school library holds 872,400 volumes, 344,400 e-books and 2,094 domestic and foreign periodicals. The school currently has 38 undergraduate majors and 6 specialized majors, 2 national specialty specialty construction sites, 1 academician workstation in Hebei Province, 5 provincial key disciplines and provincial key development disciplines, 5 provincial brand specialty programs, 3 provincial education innovation highlands, 1 provincial key laboratory, 1 provincial collaborative innovation center, 4 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, 3 provincial university applied technology research and development centers, 1 national professional comprehensive reform Pilots, 2 provincial-level comprehensive reform pilots, 1 national university students’ off-campus practical education base, 1 provincial university student entrepreneurship incubation demonstration park, and 1 research base for a theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics in Hebei Province. The school has obtained “excellent” in the evaluation of the undergraduate teaching work level of the Ministry of Education; majors in civil engineering, built environment and equipment engineering, engineering management, and architecture have successively passed the professional education evaluation of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. In 2013, the school was listed as a master’s degree authorized unit, which pioneered graduate education. Three first-level disciplines have been awarded the academic master’s degree, and two fields have been awarded the professional master’s degree.
