Foshan University (website) is a high-level science and engineering university in Guangdong Province with a history of more than 60 years. The school is located in the national historical and cultural city, the important node city of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau bay area – Foshan City, Guangdong Province.

The university originated from Foshan Teachers College founded in 1958 and Foshan Branch of South China Agricultural College. Later, Foshan Teachers College was renamed Foshan Teachers College. In February 1986, Foshan University was established on the basis of Foshan Teachers College. Foshan Branch of South China Agricultural College It has also been renamed Foshan Veterinary College and Foshan Agriculture and Animal Husbandry College. In March 1995, with the approval of the State Education Commission, Foshan University and Foshan Agriculture and Animal Husbandry College merged to form Foshan University of Science and Technology and upgraded to undergraduate. In February 2005, with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government, Foshan Workers’ Medical College and Foshan College of Education merged into Foshan University of Science and Technology.
