Introduction to Beihang University
Beihang University (北京航空航天大学, Beihang or BUAA) is the first aeronautical and aerospace institution created by New China. It is a university with a sacred mission and a grand vision. The school’s ideals and ambitions, heritage and development have always been closely related to national development and national rejuvenation.
In October 1952, Beijing Aviation University (now Beihang University) was formed by the merger of the aviation departments of eight famous Chinese universities including Tsinghua University and Beiyang University. Since its establishment 66 years ago, Beihang University has been a key university in the country. Beihang now has two campuses, Xueyuan Road and Shahe, with more than 30,000 students and nearly 4,000 faculty members. Facing the cross-cutting frontier scientific research, Beihang University has made great efforts to promote the cross-integration of superior engineering science with life sciences, medicine and other disciplines, and made a major strategic decision to expand the medical-industrial cross. Through a high starting point to build the Institute of Medical-Industrial Innovation, the world’s top talents represented by Nobel Prize winners, such as Professor Alan J. Heeger, Professor Albert Fert, and Professor Thomas C.
