Introduction to Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy
Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy (北京市朝阳区凯文学校, website) was established in 2017. It is a K-12 international bilingual school. The school is committed to providing students with rigorous and solid academic courses that integrate Chinese and Western. It has distinctive sports, art, science and innovation courses and innovative moral education courses. We are committed to cultivating students to become global citizens who have learned Chinese and Western, academic excellence, leadership, creativity and innovation.
The school provides international education for grades 1-12. The school adopts the IB curriculum, 5 years in the PYP stage of elementary school, 5 years in the MYP stage of middle school, and 2 years in the DP stage of high school. It strictly follows the IB system. In each semester system, the ratio of Chinese to English in elementary schools is 1:1. Starting from the 6th grade, the ratio of Chinese to English courses has risen to 3:7. Starting from the 11th grade, all courses are taught in English except for Chinese language and literature.
The school was officially authorized by the IBDP project in February 2020 to become an IB World School.
The Kaiwen Hockey Excellence Program (KHP) is an international compound education class jointly created by the Beijing Ice Hockey Association and Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy. It is designed for students who love ice hockey and is based on the Chinese national curriculum with professional ice hockey training. The school’s excellent bilingual education system and the Arctic Association’s gold coaching team provide students with links to high-quality educational resources and sports resources at home and abroad, while also providing students with a deep integration of academic learning and professional ice hockey training.
