7月17日，兰州大学“外国专家书屋”揭牌活动在城关校区东区举行。甘肃省科技厅党组成员、副厅长、外专局局长朱晓力，甘肃省科技厅党组成员、副厅长巨有谦，兰州大学副校长李玉民出席活动。
李玉民表示，学校将在科技部和甘肃省科技厅的支持下，继续凝聚各方力量为外国专家做好服务工作，提供更多交流平台，希望各位外国专家和留学生在学校双一流建设过程中发挥更大作用，通过“外国专家书屋”更好地认识中国、了解中国，讲好中国故事，促进中外人文交流行稳致远。
朱晓力说，作为甘肃省首批“外国专家书屋”之一，兰州大学“外国专家书屋”的建设和使用，是甘肃省坚决贯彻落实习近平总书记“聚天下英才而用之”重要指示精神和“一带一路”倡议的又一生动实践。省科技厅、省外国专家局将共同把兰州大学“外国专家书屋”打造成为促进国际交流融合的平台、“精准外宣”的窗口、服务外专的载体。
李玉民和朱晓力为“外国专家书屋”揭牌。随后，兰州大学国际合作与交流处、外国语学院、国际文化交流学院负责人以及部分校内教师、外籍专家和留学生代表参观了外专书屋。
新闻背景：“外国专家书屋”是科技部国外人才研究中心倡导组织的一项引进服务外国专家项目，自2018年6月6日首家外国专家书屋在合肥挂牌以来，全国各地已经先后成立了二十余家外国专家书屋，为万余人次外国专家提供了有关中国文化和时政讯息的外文书籍赠阅服务，取得了良好的对外宣传和社会实践效果。
在省科技厅的大力支持和积极争取下，西北首家甘肃省“外国专家书屋”落户我校。外国专家书屋首批图书共计4800余册，书屋总面积85平方米，设在外国语学院，将为我校在校外籍教师、来华留学生提供服务，同时面向校外外国专家提供阅览服务。
Lanzhou University
On July 17, the inauguration of “Foreign Expert Library” of Lanzhou University was held on the Chengguan campus. Zhu Xiaoli, Director of the Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs of Gansu Province, Li Yumin, Vice President of Lanzhou University, and foreign teachers from Lanzhou University attended the event.
Li Yumin said that with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Gansu Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the school will continue to gather all forces to serve foreign experts and provide more exchange platforms. I hope that foreign experts and international students will play a role in the school’s double-class construction. A greater role, through the “Foreign Expert Library” to better understand China, understand China, tell China’s story well, and promote the steady and long-term cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
Zhu Xiaoli said that the Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the Provincial Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs will jointly build the “Foreign Expert Library” of Lanzhou University into a platform to promote international exchanges and integration.
Afterwards, the heads of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, the School of Foreign Languages, and the School of International Cultural Exchange, as well as some teachers, foreign experts and representatives of foreign students visited the library.
The first “Foreign Expert Library” in Gansu Province in Northwest China settled in our university. The first batch of books totals more than 4,800, with a total area of 85 square meters. It is located in the School of Foreign Languages. It will provide services for foreign teachers and international students in our university, as well as reading services for foreign experts outside the school.
