Introduction to Wuxi No.1 High School
Wuxi No.1 High School (无锡一中, website) is a four-star high school in Jiangsu Province. The school was identified as the first batch of key middle schools in Jiangsu Province in 1953;
The school was founded in 1911. As of 2015, Wuxi No. 1 Middle School covers an area of more than 100 acres, with a construction area of 80,000 square meters, a total of 52 classes, more than 2,000 students, and more than 200 teaching staff.
International Department of Wuxi No.1 High School
Founded in 1911, Wuxi No.1 High School (WXYZ) is a public senior high school offers 3- year Chinese national curriculum (approx. 2,000 students enrolled). The International Department offers British A-Level (since 2008) and IBDP (since 2012) curriculums with a global vision on WXYZ’s urban campus. Since 2010, 600+ international department graduates have enrolled top universities in the US, the UK, Canada and other countries or regions. Our faculty represents 12 countries including the US, the UK, Canada, India, New Zealand, Ireland, Sri Lanka, etc. which brings a wide and diverse perspectives to students and the campus. The 6:1 student-faculty ratio enables students to get full attention and individual guidance both in and out of the classroom.
WXYZ is the top public school in Wuxi. Students are admitted to WXYZ and International Department strictly by score rankings in the High School Entrance Exam.
At Wuxi No.1 High School International Department, we believe that encouraging our students to develop a balance between academics and extracurricular interests will prepare them for the demands of the 21st century. Students in International Department participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities. Meanwhile, they are encouraged to work with NGOs, research institutes, charities and businesses to outreach their academic and personal interests and potential.
