Introduction to Tianjin No.1 High School
Tianjin No.1 High School (天津市第一中学, website) is a key middle school directly under the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission, a national modern educational technology experimental school, and a contact center for UNESCO’s Asia-Pacific Educational Innovation for Development Service Plan.
Tianjin No.1 Middle School was established in September 1947 and was originally called Tianjin Municipal Middle School; on March 6, 1949, the school was renamed as Tianjin No.1 Middle School; in 1998, Tianjin Yizhong School was founded.
Tianjin No.1 High School divides the campus into living and leisure areas, education and teaching management areas, and cultural and sports activities areas. The new construction area of the campus is 53,000 square meters. The newly built main teaching building has a construction area of 32,273 square meters, five floors overall and eight floors partially. In addition to administrative offices, there are more than 60 classrooms, 8 computer network classrooms, and 4 multimedia classrooms, including the physical and chemical laboratory of the Shaw Science and Education Building. There are 22 experimental classrooms of physical and chemical students in the whole school. There are also music, art, technology, labor and technology classrooms, a classroom dedicated to the International Department, and a student reading room and electronic reading room. The main teaching building can accommodate 60 classes. The main teaching building is connected to the magnificent 14-story modern student apartment of nearly 9,000 square meters. Tianjin No.1 High School has nearly 900 computer terminals. Computer terminals are located in classrooms, offices, libraries, and laboratories. The school has 8 computer network classrooms with all American DELL equipment. The school has a computer-controlled audio-visual center, a network center, a multimedia lecture hall, and observation classrooms.
