Introduction to Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School

Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School (中山纪念中学, website) is a public full-time complete middle school under the supervision of the Zhongshan Education and Sports Bureau; in 1953, it was identified as one of the first seven key high schools in Guangdong Province; in 1994, it was identified as the first batch of first-level schools in Guangdong Province; In 2006 and 2007, both passed the initial assessment and re-assessment acceptance of the first batch of national model ordinary high schools in Guangdong Province.

Zhongshan Memorial Middle School is the eldest son of Mr. Sun Yat-sen, the pioneer of the democratic revolution. Founded in 1934, the original name was “Prime Minister’s Hometown Memorial Middle School”; in 1949, the school was renamed “Zhongshan Memorial Middle School”.

As of March 2018, Zhongshan Memorial Middle School covers an area of 850 acres with a construction area of 170,000 square meters; there are 120 teaching classes, including 93 high school classes, 27 junior high school classes, more than 6,500 students and 529 teachers.
