Introduction to Ningbo Huamao International School
Ningbo Huamao International School (宁波华茂国际学校, website) was established on May 29, 2015 and is located at No. 2, Middle Section of Yinxian Avenue, Ningbo. The school is currently the only international school in Zhejiang Province that provides IBPYP elementary school programs for students aged 2 to 11, and also provides IBDP IB high school courses for students aged 16 to 18.
Currently the school has IB kindergartens, IB primary and middle schools, Sino-Canada cooperative high school curriculum projects and Chinese as a foreign language (HSK) curriculum projects.
The school has more than 160 classes and more than 5,000 students, including more than 350 foreign students. There are more than 700 faculty members and more than 40 foreign teachers. The school covers an area of 500 acres and has five museums: art gallery, science and technology museum, gymnasium, warm water swimming pool, library; two 400-meter circular plastic tracks and football field.
In April 2013, the school became the only unit directly under the Ningbo Municipal High School to be awarded the “base for Sino-foreign cultural exchanges for American middle school students”; in September of the same year, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to meet the needs of Chinese education for children returning from abroad. Education transition class (bilingual class) settled in our school, becoming the first in the country.
As the first school in Zhejiang Province to pass the CITA certification of the United States, our school’s students’ academic performance is recognized by every member school of the CITA family; as the first IB international school in Zhejiang Province from kindergarten to high school, our school has formed an international Diploma (IB) Primary School Program (PYP), Middle School Program (MYP) and University Preparatory Program (DP) constitute a relatively complete international curriculum system, which provides students with greater choice and convenience for studying abroad.
The school has set up the Ministry of International Education to actively introduce advanced international education ideas, courses, diplomas, management systems, methods and methods. We have established an open international education system, recruited foreign students, developed international friendly schools, sent students to prestigious foreign universities for further studies, and accelerated the internationalization of education. The school’s IB courses (kindergarten to high school), middle and overtime classes, Sino-American classes, Korean students, etc., provide multiple choices for student development and fully develop students’ potential.
