Introduction to Ningbo Foreign Language School
Ningbo Foreign Language School (Ningwai for short, 宁波外国语学校, website) was founded in 1991 and is currently a boarding school directly under the Ningbo Municipal Education Bureau. In 1999, the school was accepted as the 18th member school by the National Association of Foreign Language Schools. In 2011, the school was adopted as a standing director unit by the National Association for the Study of Foreign Language Schools, and was later rated as the “National First Model Foreign Language Schools.” In September 2015, the school established a cooperative relationship with Beijing Foreign Studies University and became a “Ningbo Foreign Language School affiliated to Beijing Foreign Studies University”.
The school is located on the bank of Dongqian Lake, covering an area of 270 mu, with a construction area of 81,000 square meters and a green area of more than 80,000 square meters. It is one of the most modern middle schools in Zhejiang Province. At present, the school includes junior high school, high school, and international department. There are more than 200 teaching staff and more than 1600 students.
Running Schools For more than 20 years, Ningbo Foreign Language School has actively explored new ways of running foreign language schools, striving to create a relaxed and harmonious learning atmosphere, guiding students to form a scientific attitude of exploring and seeking knowledge, and encouraging students to be realistic, innovative and develop their personalities. At present, the school has more than 80 expansion courses in six categories, more than 20 student clubs, abundant campus activities and comprehensive student qualities.
The school has established friendly cooperative relations with Heine Comprehensive School in Germany, WMA Middle School in the United States, and Long Bay Middle School in New Zealand. The school has organized students to exchange and study in Germany, the United States, Australia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other places, and has sent more than 30 teachers to the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Hong Kong, Australia and other places to study and study, communicate with each other, and broaden their horizons.
Since the start of the school, many graduates of the school have gone to famous universities at home and abroad, including Harvard, Stanford, Yale, MIT, Princeton, Columbia, Oxford, National University of Singapore, Peking University etc.
