Introduction to Kunming No.1 High School
Kunming No.1 High School (昆明一中, website) is a first-class high school in Yunnan Province. The school was founded in 1905.
As a famous school with a hundred years of history, Kunming No. 1 Middle School has a long history and glorious traditions. The school covers an area of more than 200 acres, with a beautiful campus environment, advanced teaching equipment and complete teaching facilities. There are currently more than 3,000 students in school, including 10 in-service special-grade teachers, 7 senior teachers, 113 senior teachers, and 4 chief senior teachers in Kunming.
From 2005 to 2017, the school was rated as an excellent school for the quality of education and teaching by the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education for 13 consecutive years, and won the first prize of the quality of education and teaching in Yunnan Province. More than 86% of students can enter key universities. The school has achieved outstanding results in various competitions organized by the international, national, provincial, and municipalities such as the Olympic discipline competition and the youth science and technology innovation competition.
Kunming No.1 High School International Department was approved and established by the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education in 2010 ([1] Yunjiaowai [2009] No. 93). In the same year, it was accredited by Edexcel of the National Examination Board (Global) Center number: 92915), becoming the first international program to offer A-Level courses in Yunnan Province. In 2011, authorized by the Cambridge University Examination Committee, while introducing the IGCSE international curriculum, the original A-level courses were also certified by the Cambridge University Examination Committee ([2-3] Global Center Number: CN869), becoming The only international curriculum center in Yunnan Province certified by two official British institutions.
