Introduction to Guangzhou Foreign Language School

Guangzhou Foreign Language School (GFLS, 广州外国语学校, website) is one of the first seven second language schools approved by the Ministry of Education. It was founded in 1963 and has trained many foreign language and diplomatic talents for the country.

In 2009, the Municipal Government rebuild the school in Nansha New District. It is now the only municipal-owned, full-time boarding foreign language school in the city.

Since resuming enrollment in 2010, Guangzhou Foreign Language School has become a national high school, a member school of the National FLS Work Research Association, and a garden-style unit in Guangdong province.

The school is committed to building a diversified and open school structure. It has opened the Sino-US “2+1” international high school courses and AP international courses. Many middle schools in the United States, Germany, France, Japan and other countries have established sister schools with the school. We have signed cooperation projects with world-class universities in France, Germany, Japan, and Australia, and strived to build green channels for students to connect to world-class universities.

With a first-class faculty, first-class school management, first-class facilities and equipment, the school has built into a basic education internationalization model school and a leading foreign language school. We strive become a first-class and well-known foreign language school in Guangdong Province.
