Introduction to Chongqing Yucai Secondary School
Chongqing Yucai Secondary School (重庆育才中学, website) was founded in July 1939. It was founded by the great people’s educator Mr. Tao Xingzhi. In line with the school mission “Cultivating Elites of China, Embracing the Broad World”, Chongqing Yucai Secondary School follows the opening trend by casting its attention on the whole world. The school International Department was set up in 2009 with the approval of Chongqing Education Committee. Integrating resources from both China and abroad, we are persistently committed to fostering more talented students with patriotism and world vision and opening up a new chapter of an internationalized education at Yucai.

The International Department, ever since its founding, is committing itself to promoting foreign exchanges and cooperation with the outside world, including countries like the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Russia, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Singapore, Japan and Brazil. As of today, friendly cooperation and partnerships with close to ten such internationally renowned schools as Alexander Dawson School, American Lincoln High School, British Hayes School, Singapore Bukit View Secondary School, Moscow No.13 Middle School from different continents have been established and regular colorful inter-school exchange activities involving students and teachers are carried out every year.
As a bridge connecting students and the outside world, CQYCSS International Department is committed to cultivating students with international vision. In 2011, the international department started to offer Pre-Advanced Placement of US College Board (Pre-AP) courses and introduced Advanced Placement of US College Board (AP) Program in 2018， which offers 17 AP courses and more than 30 elective courses, boasting more than 60% teachers graduating from foreign prestigious universities. At the same time, it has been certified as the official competition venues by 15 international and domestic competitions, including American Mathematics Contest (AMC), Euclid Contest, AAPT Physics Bowl, National High School Debate League of China (NHSDLC) and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Students dominate in various international competitions and nearly a thousand students have enrolled in famous universities in the world, including Cambridge University, Nanyang Technological University, Hong Kong University and so on.
