Introduction to Chongqing Nankai Middle School
Chongqing Nankai Middle School or Chongqing Nankai Secondary School (重庆南开中学, website), founded in 1936, is one of the Nankai series of schools founded by the famous patriotic educator Mr. Zhang Boling. Nankai School started in Tianjin. Zhang Boling, formerly a trainee officer of the Beiyang Navy, witnessed the tragic scene of the “Three Changes of the National Flag” after the defeat of the Sino-Japanese War, determined to educate and save the country. In 1904, he built Tianjin Nankai Middle School with the help of Qing Han Lin Yanxiu, and later founded Nankai University in 1919, Nankai Girls’ High School in 1923, and Nankai Economic Research Institute in 1927. After the “September 18” incident, the situation in North China was critical. In order to ensure that education is not interrupted by changes in the current situation and realize the ideal of running Nankai schools across the country, President Zhang Boling decided to build a middle school in Sichuan and choose the site of Chongqing Shapingba. The school was originally named Nanyu Middle School, and Nankai was chosen to run schools in Chongqing. In 1937, Tianjin Nankai Middle School and Nankai University were bombed by Japanese planes. “In order to express the continuation of Nankai’s life and unyielding determination,” President Zhang Boling changed the name of Nanyu Middle School to Private Chongqing in 1938 on the recommendation of the school board. Nankai Middle School. In 1953, the school was changed from private to public and renamed Chongqing Third Middle School. In 1984, Chongqing No. 3 Middle School restored the name of Nankai School, and the school card was inscribed by Comrade Deng Yingchao. At present, the school is a public high school directly under the management of Chongqing Municipal Education Commission and a key middle school in Chongqing.
Chongqing Nankai Middle School adheres to comprehensively promote quality education and continuously improves the quality of education.
