Introduction to Chengdu Foreign Languages School
Chengdu Foreign Languages School (成都外国语学校, website) was founded in 1989. It was approved by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education. It is the first high school in Sichuan with foreign language characteristics. It is a foreign language school approved by the Ministry of Education (only 16 in the country and only 1 in Sichuan). Chengdu Foreign Languages School covers an area of 220 acres and currently has 745 in-service teaching staff, 516 full-time teachers, 140 teaching classes, and more than 7,300 students. The school offers five foreign languages: English, Japanese, French, German, and Spanish, with a junior high school, high school, and international department. The school has a first-class culture, first-class management, first-class teachers, first-class courses, first-class classrooms, first-class quality, and strives to create a safe, harmonious, excellent, humanistic, and profitable.
Chengdu Foreign Languages School has achieved excellent results in the college entrance examination. So far, 13 provincial and municipal liberal arts champions have been born, and four provincial and municipal champions in the past five years. In 2018, the book rate reached 98.3%, and the guarantee was the leading one. More than 90 people were sent to key universities for further study each year, accounting for more than 80% of the number of guarantees in the province. Hundreds of students are admitted to world-class universities every year, and many students are admitted by full scholarships from world-renowned universities such as Harvard, Yale, Oxford, Cambridge, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, and Columbia University. So far, Chengdu Foreign Languages School students have been admitted to Ivy League schools with full awards or high scholarships for more than ten consecutive years. It has also become a middle school with admissions to all eight Ivy League schools; more than 5,000 students have been awarded National awards. In the past three years, more than 100 people in high school alone won the first prize in the national competition, and more than 10 people entered the provincial team and won gold or silver medals in the finals. In 2018, Wang Yanzhen won the gold medal in the 19th Asian Physics Olympiad. English features, bright spots constantly. In the 2015 CCTV Hope Star English TV Contest, he won the national championship of the senior middle school group.
