Introduction to Changjun High School

Changjun High School of Changsha (长郡中学, website) is a full-time public ordinary senior high school run by the Changsha Municipal Education Bureau. It is a model ordinary senior high school in Hunan Province and one of the first eight key middle schools listed in Hunan Province.

The school was founded in 1904 by Yan Zhongji, the governor of Changsha (thirty years of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty). In 1912, a new school was established on the basis of the Changsha High School. Since then, the school has been renamed as Hunan No. 1 Union County Middle School, Changjun Public School, Changsha No. 1 Middle School, and Changsha No. 2 Middle School. In 1984, the school name of Changsha Mayor County Middle School was restored.

As of November 2011, Changsha Middle School in Changsha covers an area of 58 acres, with 67 teaching classes, more than 3,400 students and 322 faculty members.
