Greg, France

Greg is 30-year-old French teacher. In the eyes of students, he is a complete gentleman. After the endless lectures, he always played the guitar and sang English songs affectionately, attracting the admiration of the students.

Greg is from Paris, the romantic capital of France, and has been in Taizhou for 4 years. Now he is a foreign teacher at Taizhou Birmingham International School. He has a Chinese name: Su Yang.

“I like Chinese culture very much. I have been in Taizhou for several years and I never feel like a foreigner now.” When interviewed by reporters, he spoke fluent Chinese, with good pronunciation. Greg said that he personally likes Chinese calligraphy and painting and traditional costumes.

The past year was also a rewarding year for Greg. He has many students graduated. He said that the happiest thing is to stand on the podium and look at the students who are learning English, “They are all hardworking and nice.”

Speaking of this year’s Chinese New Year plan, Greg arranged a trip for himself. “I will go to Yunnan to find a friend during the Spring Festival holiday, enjoy the beautiful scenery of China, and taste Chinese food.” He is planning to set off, and he will return to Taizhou after the Chinese New Year.

Joelle, CANADA

Greg has a female colleague named Joelle, 25 years old this year, from Canada. Both of them are fluent in five languages. They often go shopping together. A few days ago, all the school staff had a special “New Year’s Eve dinner” to celebrate the Spring Festival in advance.

Last year, Joelle tutored many Taizhou students who are keen on learning English. She said that she worked hard every day to prepare lessons and interact with the students after class. Everyone has a good friendship. These are a valuable asset in her life. What she is most happy about is watching her students make progress every day.

In addition to teaching English, Joelle usually likes the unique costumes and decorations of Chinese ethnic minorities, and she keeps collecting these beautiful cultural items.

When asked what he thinks of the Chinese New Year, Joelle said to reporters with excitement: “Of course I know Chinese Spring Festival. As a foreigner living in China, I have gradually integrated into the traditional Chinese festival atmosphere. “These days, like her Chinese friends, she rushed to buy new year goods in the streets and alleys, and bought several new clothes for herself. “On New Year’s Eve, I will prepare a New Year’s Eve dinner with the family of a Chinese friend, put on new clothes, and welcome the new year.” For this special holiday, Joelle is full of expectations.
