Introduction to Nanjing Medical University

Nanjing Medical University is the first batch of universities of the Ministry of Education, the National Health and Family Planning Commission and the provincial government to build medical schools and high-level universities in Jiangsu. The school was founded in 1934, when it was named Jiangsu Provincial Medical and Political College. In 1957, moved from Zhenjiang to Nanjing, renamed Nanjing Medical College. In 1962, it was listed as the first batch of six-year medical colleges in China. In 1981, it was approved as the first batch of doctoral and master’s degree-granting units in the country. In 1993, it was renamed Nanjing Medical University.The school has 19 colleges (including Kangda College). It has 26 affiliated hospitals and more than 50 teaching hospitals. The school’s school headquarters currently has more than 1,800 faculty members, including 945 full-time teachers. There are 218 professors, 280 associate professors, 715 doctoral supervisors and 2,312 master tutors.

Position Description	The foreign teachers are expected to: 1. teach Chinese students oral English and English writing 2. teach medical students medical terminology and scientific paper writing 3. provide English training for hospital doctors and nurses, including conversational English in hospital settings and scientific paper writingWorking load: 16 lessons/week, 40 minutes/lesson
Qualifications	Bachelor’s degree or above; at least two years of related working experience; Health related certification is preferred.
The university provides	◆ Salary: starting from RMB5,000/month ◆ Benefits: RMB5,000 each semester as reimbursement for international airfare; RMB1000 each semester as traveling benefits ◆ Living condition: a private, individual furnished apartment on campus with one living room, television, telephone, refrigerator, air conditioner (cooling and heat), one bedroom with some furniture, bathroom, kitchen with cooking utensils, wardrobe, as well as washing machines.
