About Beijing University of Chinese Medicine
Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM, website) is a prestigious university in China with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Chinese materia medica as its leading subjects. As the exclusive top university of traditional Chinese medicine listed under the Project 985 and Project 211, it is under the direct supervision of the Chinese Ministry of Education and jointly development by the National Health Commission, State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SATCM) and municipal government of Beijing. Prof. Gu Xiaohong is now the Secretary of Party committee, and Prof. Xu Anlong, the university President.
There are 32,325 registered students at the university. Among them, 12602 are full-time students, including 7,536 undergraduate and junior college students, 4,504 master’s degree candidates and 786 doctoral degree candidates. In addition, there are 508 students from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, and 562 international students. Moreover, 1,864 students are enrolled in the continuing education program and 17,859 in the distance learning program.

Recruitment Notice
The School of Humanities, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine seeks 1-2 qualified candidates for English language teaching positions on a 12-month basis.
Courses to Teach:
1. Spoken English
2. English Pronunciation / Phonetics
3. Business English Writing
4. Writing (Beginner and Advanced)
5. Culture of English-speaking Countries
Required Qualifications:
1. Native English-speakers (with residence permit in China preferred);
2. Bachelor’s degree or above in a related field (ESL; Linguistics; Literature; Education; Philosophy; Medicine, etc);
3. At least two years’ teaching experience at a college or a university;
4. Holding at least one of the following certificates: TEFL, TESL, TESOL, TKT, CELTA;
5. Willingness and ability to work with other faculty members in a team;
6. Strong communication skills;
7. Strong sense of responsibility to motivate students to learn English.
Vacancies:
One – two vacancies. Full time teaching job starting from late August of the year.
Benefits:
Base salary (8000 RMB) for a weekly workload of 14 hours plus free housing on campus and reimbursement of a round-trip (between Beijing and your hometown) economy class air tickets. Pay scales, welfare, terms and conditions for different responsibilities may differ.
