About Second Foreign Language School Affiliated to Shanghai Normal University
The Second Foreign Language School Affiliated to Shanghai Normal University (上海师范大学附属第二外国语学校, website) was established in 2000. It is a high standard modern twelve-year private boarding school. The school is located at the axis of Disneyland, Pudong International Airport and Lingang New Town with convenient transport of subway line 16. The school covers nearly 200 acres, and has modern buildings of more than 200,000 square meters, including restaurants, dormitories, and teaching buildings. Each building has central air conditioning, internet communications, and temperature control water equipment. Our campus is fully tree covered and has an elegant surrounding, which provide students a perfect learning and living environment. School provides high standard education service from Grade 1 to Grade 12. With abundant curriculum resources, the Second Foreign Language School integrates Chinese culture with international ideas. School focuses on students’ culture foundation, independent development and society participation, and aims to bring up students to global outstanding level.
The International Division was established in 2011. In September 2011, U.S. high school curriculum and Advanced Placement (AP) Courses were implemented into the SFLS International Division and all courses to be instructed in English. Total English immersion guarantees the student will see drastic improvements in all facets with their English ability.
As an educational institution with international perspective, SFLS is committed to provide student personalized education. Curriculum at SFLS is a combination of Chinese and Western progressive education approaches. We emphasize knowledge, creativity and globalized perspectives, in order to educate student to become a well-rounded developed individual. Throughout the study in SFLS, the students will receive an American high school education, based on curriculum that is accepted by top tier universities throughout the U.S, which also including the universities cooperated with SFLS.
