Introduction to Jinling High School Hexi Campus
Jinling High School Hexi Campus (金陵中学河西分校, website) is located in the center of Hexi New Town, Nanjing. It was jointly established in 2003 by Jinling High School and the Management Committee of Hexi New Town, Nanjing. At present, it has the elementary school, junior high school, high school and international department, more than 700 faculty members, and more than 7,000 students. After 17 years of development, the school has become an influential and well-known school in Jiangsu Province and even the whole country.
International Department
The International Department of Jinling High School Hexi Campus has always insisted on running schools with high grades. Since its establishment in 2009, it has cooperated with top foreign educational resources and has successively held experimental classes for high school courses in the United States, high school courses in Canada, and A-level classes in the United Kingdom. The International Department was formally established in 2009, and the China-US Project and China-Canada Project welcomed the first batch of students. In 2012, the Sino-British project was approved and became the first batch of A-Level test teaching centers in Nanjing of the Edexcel Examination Bureau.
The International Department has an excellent student population with excellent quality and comprehensive development. In the past seven consecutive years of graduates, 88.3% of the students were admitted to the top 70 universities in the world, and 30% of the students were admitted to the top 30 universities in the world. 70% are admitted to the top 100 schools in the world.
As of April 2020, the International Department of Jinling Middle School Hexi Branch has introduced nearly 60 teachers, including postdoctoral fellows at Brown University, Ph.D. from Chinese Academy of Sciences. etc., 100% of the currently introduced teachers have a master’s degree or above, and have teaching or research experience in world-class universities. The average teaching age is over 9 years. They are a group of young and middle-aged teachers with an international perspective.
Various activities of the International Department are rich and varied. Club activities fully respect the individuality of students and develop their potential. It is one of the most popular activities among students. Robot clubs, fencing clubs, street dance clubs, martial arts clubs, Model United Nations, etc., are brilliant and are the cradle for nurturing leaders and talents. In addition, the International Department organizes Cosplay Day, cultural and arts festivals, and volunteer activities every year, and encourages students to actively participate in public welfare projects.
The International Department cooperates with well-known universities in the United States, Britain, Canada and other countries to continuously promote the modernization and internationalization of education. The International Department receives visits from more than 40 prestigious universities each year, such as Columbia University, John Hopkins University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Cambridge, University of Toronto, etc. In 2018, the Summer School of Duke University in the United States settled in our school. The International Department cooperates with sister schools in Canada, Kent School, Barnsley College in the United Kingdom, University of California Irvine, and Melbourne Girls’ High School for education and teaching.
