Introduction to UWC Changshu
Founded in 2015, UWC Changshu China (中国常熟世界联合学院, website) is the first UWC in Mainland China and the 15th UWC in the world. As an IB university preparatory course school, UWC Changshu provides high-quality two-year IBDP courses and one-year FP preparatory courses for students in grades 10-12. China Changshu World Union College provides students with a multicultural environment, challenging and transformative educational experience.
The college encourages students to take the initiative to communicate, understand each other, respect each other, assume responsibility, pursue ideals, and cultivate students’ ability to resolve disputes and respond to sustainable development issues. Applicants are carefully selected by each UWC National Council and come to Changshu to live and study as representatives of their own countries or regions. China Changshu World Union College provides students with a valuable experiential learning experience, encouraging them to explore Chinese language and culture, youth leadership and environmental protection.
As of 2019, the total number of students and three-time graduates of the school has exceeded 1,000, of which nearly 500 graduates have been favored by world-renowned universities including Oxford, Cambridge and 8 Ivy League schools.
