Introduction to Shanghai Shixi High School

Shanghai Shixi High School (上海市市西中学, website) was founded in 1953. At the beginning of its establishment, it was a school designated by the Shanghai Municipal Government to recruit patriotic returned overseas Chinese children. In 1959, the school was named as one of the first 26 municipal key middle schools in Shanghai by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. In 2017, the school was named by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and became the first ordinary high school with Shanghai characteristics.

The school covers an area of more than 70 acres, with a construction area of 56575 square meters, with greenery and beautiful environment. The classroom is equipped with multimedia and LAN, and the dormitory facilities are complete. In 2010, there were 1119 students in the school. The school has 22 dedicated classrooms; sports area of 13,705 square meters, sports facilities include football fields, basketball courts, volleyball courts, bunkers, etc.;
