Foreign Language School Attached to Guangxi Normal University (广西师范大学附属外国语学校, website) is located in Guilin City, which is a world of mountains and rivers. It was founded in 1984. The school campus covers an area of 240 acres, and now has junior high school, high school and international department, a total of 86 teaching classes with nearly 5,000 students, and more than 500 faculty members.
The school has more than 300 in-service teachers from more than 20 provinces and cities in the country; among them, there are 8 in-service special-grade teachers, more than 60 master students, middle and senior teachers account for 85% of the school’s teachers, and 100% are undergraduate and graduate students.
The school actively promotes curriculum reform, attaches importance to subject research, adheres to scientific research to invigorate schools, and takes the path of connotative development with remarkable scientific research results. Since 2000, the school has undertaken and participated in 51 key educational research projects at the municipal, provincial and ministerial levels. More than 80 teachers represented Guangxi in various national high-quality class competitions.
As a foreign language school, the school’s English teaching, research, teaching reform and teaching features are outstanding and bear fruit. From 2000 to 2017, he participated in the national middle school students’ English proficiency contest with outstanding achievements, and nearly 2,000 people won national special prizes and first prizes. The school is a sister school with the Independent High School of North Carolina, Broome High School and Friedrich-List-Schule High School of Germany
In the autumn of 2014, Foreign Language School Attached to Guangxi Normal University joined hands with Guangxi Gaojie Canadian International School to introduce the top international education resources in the United States and Canada and set up an “international high school comprehensive experimental class” (hereinafter referred to as the “experimental class”). The experimental class introduces diverse high school curricula and high-quality educational resources from Western countries, and fully integrates with Chinese high school curricula. In March 2015, the Foreign Language School affiliated to Guangxi Normal University was officially awarded as the only ACT-GAC teaching test center in Guangxi and the only youth TOEFL test center in Guilin.
