Introduction to Zhengzhou Foreign Language School

Zhengzhou Foreign Language School (郑州外国语学校, website) is located at No. 6 Fengyang Street, Zhengzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone. It is one of the first demonstration high schools in Henan Province. It is one of the 13 foreign language schools in the country approved by the Ministry of Education.

The school was established in 1983 as a complete middle school with an address at 65 Longhai West Road. In the more than ten years since the school was founded, the school has used “foreign language prominence” as a breakthrough and introduced a teaching mode with rich foreign language characteristics. 3. Schools with obvious advantages in liberal arts. At the end of the 1990s, Zheng Wai set the goal of running a school as “both humanities and sciences, outstanding foreign language, and comprehensive development”. On the premise of strengthening the characteristics of foreign languages and the advantages of liberal arts, we insisted on equal emphasis on liberal arts and science, and focused on science teaching. In 2001, as a key project in Zhengzhou City, the school’s high school was relocated to the new site of Fengyang Street in the high-tech zone, and it became a boarding high school. The Longhai Road campus became the junior high school.

The school has 48 classes, more than 2,800 students, and nearly 300 faculty members. The campus covers an area of 164 acres and has first-class modern teaching equipment: including a 400-meter plastic track, a standard football field, a gymnasium, a library, an electronic reading room, and apartment-style dormitory buildings and restaurants for 3,000 students, as well as a technology experiment center.

Every year, Zhengzhou Foreign Language School has about 200 students enrolled in key universities such as Peking University and Tsinghua University. The number of enrolled students accounts for more than half of the total number in Henan Province. In 2019, 142 people will be guaranteed, including 33 people from Peking University and Tsinghua University (including 5 people from competitions).

The number and rate of online books have increased year by year, reaching 98.3% in 2018, leading the province. From 2012 to 2018, the number of Zheng Wai students admitted to Peking University and Tsinghua University increased from 42 to 57, and a total of 338 people in seven years.

Every year, about 200 students are admitted to prestigious foreign universities such as Harvard University and Cambridge University. 186 students in 2019 are accepted by foreign famous schools, including 1 Oxford University and 1 Cambridge University.

The school conducts competition teaching experiments in the five disciplines of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and informatics. In the past ten years, a total of 77 foreign students have won the gold medal in the national finals of the five subjects.
