Introduction to Shenzhen Middle School
Shenzhen Middle School (Chinese: 深圳中学, SMS) was founded in 1947. It was designated as the only provincial key middle school in Shenzhen in 1983. It was evaluated as a model school for new national curriculum reform in 2004. It passed the national model high school assessment in 2007 and was awarded the first national civilization in 2017. In 2017, the school proposed the goal of “building a world-class high school with Chinese characteristics” and is committed to cultivating top-notch innovative talents with Chinese heritage and international vision. Regarding the school running goals, the school continues to promote curriculum construction, forming a “one body and two wings” curriculum model, at the same time integrating resources and building a platform to build 18 innovative experience centers and universities with famous enterprises and universities such as Huawei, Tencent, DJI, Peking University, and Tsinghua University Innovation Lab; opened a lecture hall of Shenzhen University and invited famous scholars to give lectures. Shenzhen Middle School has accepted 282 students from Peking University and Tsinghua University in 2010-2019, ranking first in the province; in 2019, 30 students have been admitted to Peking University and Tsinghua University, and 101 students from the top 100 Chinese universities in the QS ranking are ranked first in the province.

Shenzhen Middle School Chorus, Dance Troupe, Wind Orchestra and Folk Orchestra are all well-known in China. In 2019, Zhang Yuzhu was admitted to Peking University with his special dance skills, which is the only one in the country.
