Introduction to Chongqing No.8 Secondary School
Chongqing No.8 Secondary School (重庆市第八中学校, website), formerly known as Shuren Middle School, was founded in 1938 and is one of the “three famous schools” in Chongqing.
Our school enjoys the reputation of “Gold Medal Secondary School”, and is awarded as “Chongqing High School Teaching Quality Excellence” for three consecutive years. In the past five years alone, more than 100 students have been admitted to Peking University and Tsinghua University. Thousands students have entered first-class universities at home and abroad. The enrollment rate of key universities in the liberal arts and sciences ranks at the forefront among all high schools in the city.
The International Department of Chongqing No.8 Secondary School was established in 2006 and has more than ten years of history in running schools. Since its inception, the International Department has been committed to carrying out international cooperation and exchanges with students as the main body, and has established friendly exchanges and cooperation with schools in more than ten countries and regions such as the United States, Britain, Germany, and Singapore. In addition, the Ministry of International Affairs has assisted the Chongqing Foreign Affairs Office in organizing large-scale foreign affairs activities such as the “Chinese Bridge · Chinese Language Contest for Middle School Students” for three consecutive years, and has accumulated rich foreign affairs resources and overseas study training experience.
Since its establishment in 2006, the International Department has sent nearly 200 students to well-known foreign universities such as Princeton University, Pennsylvania University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Southern California, University of Washington, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, etc.
