Introduction to Cangzhou Normal University
Cangzhou Normal University (沧州师范学院, website) is located in Cangzhou City, on the shores of the Bohai Sea and the banks of the canal in the eastern part of Hebei Province. Following the school motto of “Mingde Knowledge, Knowledge, and Practice, the New”, after 60 years of construction and development, the school has become a major education discipline, covering Local, applied general undergraduate colleges with multiple disciplines including liberal arts, science, engineering, management, and art.
Cangzhou Normal University was founded in 1958. In 1962, it was renamed Cangzhou Teachers’ School. In 1970, it was merged into Botou Teachers’ School. In 1976, Cangzhou Teachers’ School was rebuilt. In 1984, it was upgraded to Cangzhou Teachers’ College. In May 1991, the Cangzhou Regional Education College was merged into Cangzhou Teachers’ College. In September 2001, Cangzhou Normal School, Cangzhou Teachers’ Training School, and Cangzhou Agricultural Machinery Engineering School were merged into Cangzhou Teachers College. In March 2010, it was upgraded to an ordinary university at the undergraduate level and renamed “Cangzhou Teachers College”. Obtained the right to grant a bachelor’s degree in 2014. In 2018, it successfully passed the qualification assessment of the undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education.
Cangzhou Normal University currently has 979 faculty members, including 750 full-time teachers, 324 with deputy or higher titles, and 545 masters and doctors. It has a group of outstanding teachers including the Special Allowance Expert of the State Council, the Special Allowance Expert of the Provincial Government, and Famous Teaching Teachers in Hebei Province. There are 89 external teachers and well-known scholars as guest professors.
Cangzhou Normal University currently has 17 second-level colleges, with 47 undergraduates and 26 junior colleges. The majors cover 10 university disciplines including literature, history, science, engineering, management, education, law, agriculture, economics, and art. Form a school structure based on the normalization of teachers’ specialty and the coordinated development of teachers’ and non-teachers’ specialty. The school mainly recruits students from Hebei Province. The students come from 18 provinces (cities, autonomous regions). As of September 2019, Cangzhou Teachers College has a total of 14,921 full-time students, including 11,903 undergraduates, accounting for 80% of all students. .
In the nearly 60 years since the school was founded, Cangzhou Normal University has trained and transported a large number of high-quality talents for local basic education and economic and social development. It has created a group of senior cultural relics expert Zhao Yu, Beijing Foreign Studies University doctoral supervisor Han Baocheng, and Lu Xun Literature Award Li Hao and other cultural and educational elites, many graduates have become the main leaders and technical backbones of provincial, city, and county party and government agencies, enterprises, and institutions. In recent years, the school has continued to deepen the reform of education and teaching with the goal of cultivating applied talents, and has achieved remarkable results in training talents. It has trained more than 5,000 primary and secondary school and kindergarten teachers for local basic education, and cultivated nearly 10,000 applied talents for regional economic development. In recent years, the average employment rate of graduates has reached more than 90%; the graduate admission rate (the ratio of admissions to registrations) has remained at a high level for five consecutive years, ranking among the best in similar institutions. In the past five years, our students have won more than 200 awards in various professional competitions, including national and provincial e-commerce competitions and entrepreneurial innovation competitions.
Cangzhou Normal University has 2 provincial key development disciplines of applied chemistry and literature and art, including 21 scientific research platforms such as Chinese martial arts training base, Qiyue Education Research Center, Hebei Green Chemistry Research Center, and Hebei Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Base. The school has 3 unique research and education bases. The “Chinese Martial Arts Training Base” fully explores and organizes Cangzhou martial arts culture, conducts international promotion training for martial arts professionals, and promotes the “wushu martial arts on campus” activity and martial arts grade evaluation. The “Wildlife Rescue Center” is responsible for wildlife rescue, epidemic disease monitoring, bird environment, wetland research, etc., and provides a large amount of monitoring data for national, provincial and municipal wildlife rescue. The center is named “National Important Wildlife Epidemic Disease The implementation unit of the active early warning pilot work “Hebei Wildlife Epidemic and Epidemic Surveillance Point” and “Hebei Science Popularization Education Base”. Relying on the Qiyue Education Hall, the “Qiyue Education Research Center” integrates exhibit protection, revolutionary education, and scientific research, and strives to become a revolutionary traditional education base for domestic journalism professionals, a research base for broadcasting art education, and spoken Chinese expressions for primary and middle school teachers Skills training base, Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei language, communication and development comprehensive training base.
Cangzhou Normal University employs well-known scholars from universities such as the University of Wisconsin, Tsinghua University, and Beijing Normal University as visiting professors. It has established friendly cooperation with more than 40 universities in 14 countries and regions including South Korea, the United States, Canada, and Germany, and has established extensive cooperation. Studying in Korea has become the main content of our school’s international exchanges, and more than 100 students have gone abroad for exchange or further studies.
Cangzhou Normal University was rated as “Civilized Unit of Hebei Province” by the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, and successively won the “Hebei Youth Science and Technology Innovation Education Demonstration Base”, the first batch of “Hebei Youth Volunteer Volunteer Training Base” and “May Fourth Red Banner Youth League Committee” “Hebei Youth Volunteer Outstanding Collective” and many other honorary titles; was awarded the “MM Million Youth Entrepreneurship Program” outstanding organization award by the League Central Committee; was named the first batch of university cultural forum in Hebei Province.
