Sichuan Engineering Technical College (四川工程职业技术学院, website) is a public full-time ordinary college approved by the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government. Established in 1959, the school was formerly known as the “Deyang Heavy Machinery Manufacturing School of the First Ministry of Machinery Industry”. In 1962, the First Ministry of Machinery Industry canceled the Southwest Heavy Mechanical and Electrical College and resumed the establishment of the secondary technical school. The school was renamed the “Deyang Machinery Manufacturing School of the First Ministry of Machinery Industry”. In 1965, the Ministry of the First Machinery Industry transferred the school to the Second Heavy Machinery Factory, merged with the factory-run part-time and part-time technical school, and the school was named “Second Heavy Machine Factory Part-time and Part-time Intermediate Technical School”. In 1973, the school was renamed “Deyang Machine Manufacturing School” and was affiliated to the Machinery Industry Department of Sichuan Province. In 1977, the school was renamed “Sichuan Deyang Machine Manufacturing School”. In 1982, the school was renamed “Sichuan Machinery Industry School”. In 1999, the school added the “Sichuan Engineering and Technology School” school card. In 1999, Sichuan Mechanical Workers College moved to Sichuan Engineering and Technology School. In 2001, the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government approved the merger of Sichuan Mechanical Industry Workers College and Sichuan Engineering Technology School to establish the Sichuan Engineering Vocational Technical College, which is affiliated to the Sichuan Economic and Information Commission. Sichuan Mechanical Industry Workers College, Sichuan Engineering and Technology School, and Sichuan Mechanical Industry School were cancelled at the same time. In 2006, the Deyang Education College was integrated into the Sichuan Engineering Vocational and Technical College as a whole.
