Introduction to Sichuan Agricultural University
Sichuan Agricultural University (四川农业大学, SCAU) is a national “211 Project” key university and national “double first-class” construction university with characteristics of biotechnology, agricultural technology as its advantage, and multidisciplinary coordinated development. The current party secretary is Professor Zhuang Tianhui and the principal is Professor Zheng Youliang. The school has a long history and abundant resources. Formerly known as the Sichuan Provincial Agricultural Academy, founded in 1906, it has since gone through Sichuan Higher Agricultural School (1912), Sichuan Public Agricultural College (1914), Public Sichuan University College of Agricultural Sciences (1927), Sichuan Provincial Agricultural College (1932) Years), National Sichuan University Agricultural College (1935), Sichuan University Agricultural College (1950) and many other historical development stages. In 1956, the Agricultural College of Sichuan University was relocated to the former capital of Xikang (repealed in 1955). Yaan was established as the Sichuan Agricultural College. In 1985, it was renamed Sichuan Agricultural University. In 2001, the Sichuan Forestry School was incorporated as a whole. The school currently has 3 campuses in Ya’an, Chengdu and Dujiangyan, covering a total area of about 4,500 acres. The library has a collection of 11.6589 million volumes (pieces). The disciplines are complete and distinctive. There are currently 26 colleges, 15 research institutes (centers), and 1 national key laboratory (preparatory), covering agronomy, science, engineering, economics, management, medicine, literature, education, law, and art.10 University disciplines. There are 8 post-doctoral research stations, 11 first-level disciplines and 48 second-level disciplines, 18 first-level disciplines and 87 second-level disciplines authorized by master’s degrees, 8 professional degree award categories, and 91 undergraduate majors; There are 4 national key disciplines and key cultivation disciplines, and 19 provincial and provincial key disciplines. Sichuan Agricultural University has a complete education system for bachelor, master, and doctor. It is one of the first universities in the country to resume admission to graduate students after the Cultural Revolution.
