Guangdong Teachers College of Foreign Language and Arts (广东省外语艺术职业学院, website) is a full-time general higher vocational college organized by the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government. The school’s predecessors were the Guangdong Foreign Language Teachers School organized by the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government in 1978 and the Guangdong Art Teachers School in 1983. In December 2001, it was renamed the Guangdong Vocational College of Foreign Languages with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial Government. The school is a model vocational college in Guangdong Province, a model school for innovation and entrepreneurship education for college students in Guangdong Province, and a model school for governing schools in accordance with law in Guangdong Province.

Guangdong Teachers College of Foreign Language and Arts is located in Tianhe District, Guangzhou. It has two campuses, Wushan and Yanling, with 10,787 full-time students and 4,652 students in adult education. The Wushan campus is mainly specialized in vocational education, including the School of Applied Foreign Languages, the School of Music and Dance, the School of Art and Design, the School of Information, the School of International Economics and Trade, the College of Continuing Education, and the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The Yanling Campus is dominated by teacher education majors, including the School of Basic Education, the School of Preschool Education, and the School of Public Management. The campus of the school covers an area of 274 acres, with a total construction area of 220,000 square meters and a training area of 48,000 square meters. The library has a total of 1.4248 million books (species), 50 database sites, and 27395GB of mirrored data. The number of campus network information points reached 13,500. The campus is lined with greenery and elegant surroundings, and is a “garden-style unit” and “Guangdong Safe and Civilized Campus” in Guangzhou.

Guangdong Teachers College of Foreign Language and Arts integrates innovation and entrepreneurship education into the whole process of talent training, and explores “based on curriculum and teaching reform to promote production, rely on project centers to achieve productization, and incubate bases to promote commercialization”. The “Three-Pinization” innovation and entrepreneurship education path has cultivated all students to have creative thinking, innovative spirit and entrepreneurial ability, and has realized the entrepreneurial dream of some students. The quality of school graduates’ employment is high and it ranks among the top universities in the province. In the past three years, the initial employment salary of school graduates is much higher than the average level of vocational colleges in our province, and the satisfaction degree of graduates’ innovative ability is higher than the national average level of vocational colleges.

Guangdong Teachers College of Foreign Language and Arts currently has 559 faculty members, including 150 senior titles, and 85.51% of teachers with “dual teacher” quality. Among the teaching staff are national outstanding teachers, candidates selected by the Ministry of Education’s “Cross-Century Outstanding Talents Support Program”, Guangdong South Guangdong Outstanding Teachers, Guangdong Provincial Teaching Masters, Guangdong Higher Vocational Education Professional Leaders, Guangdong “March 8” Red Banner, Famous teaching teacher of Guangdong Special Support Program, outstanding young teacher of Guangdong province, host of Guangdong Province’s primary and secondary training expert studio, host of Guangdong province’s “double teacher” teacher studio of professional education, Guangdong province’s “thousands, one hundred” “Ten” project provincial training objects and other outstanding talents, there are four outstanding teaching teams in Guangdong Province, 60 teachers have been employed as experts or consultants by the industry or enterprises.

In 2017, the school was identified as the “National Education Yu VR” World Lab Project by the School Planning and Construction Development Center of the Ministry of Education. Established 14 on-campus training bases focusing on 3 central financial-supported training bases, 7 provincial-level training bases, and 1 provincial public training center, and 5 provincial-level and 19-level college students’ out-of-school practice teaching Base construction projects, more than 500 off-campus practice bases, 188 professional training rooms, and 5,997 professional training positions. The training equipment and conditions are at the leading level among similar institutions in Guangdong Province.

Guangdong Teachers College of Foreign Language and Arts actively carries out international exchanges and cooperation, serving the “Belt and Road” development strategy and the construction of the Guangdong Free Trade Zone. The school cooperated with Birmingham City University in the UK to host a Sino-foreign cooperative school project at the pre-school education level; the French Research Center was registered by the Ministry of Education’s “Belt and Road” regional and national research centers in 2017. The school has won the honorary title of “Advanced Collective of Foreign Exchanges and Cooperation of Higher Education Institutions in Guangdong Province”. So far, the school has established cooperative relationships with 35 overseas universities and educational institutions, carried out student studies, studies, short-term study tours and other programs, and launched multilingual social training in French, Korean, and English. In recent years, the “China-Korea International Exchange Cultural Center”, “Guangwai Foreign Arts-New Zealand Waitelia Polytechnic Institute of Technology (Guangdong) Training Center” and “Theatrical English Teaching Research and Development Center” have settled in our school and established a sustainable series.
