Introduction to Sichuan International Studies University
Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) is a full time regular undergraduate university run by the State. Located in Shapingba District, Chongqing, the fourth largest city in China, it aims to cultivate high quality foreign language professionals and professionals in foreign-related fields. It is the most important research center of foreign languages and cultures, foreign trade and business, and international relations in Southwest China.
Sixteen languages are taught at the university. They are Chinese, English, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Spanish, Korean, Italian, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Arabic, Thai, Hebrew, Hungarian, and Czech. Every year we invite over 90 Foreign Teachers and Experts to teach the languages at our university. Most of them are English teachers. They come from different parts of the world, and bring in different cultures and customs, while at the same time they learn the Chinese culture and tradition. They work in different departments and contribute much to the teaching and development of the university. They live on campus and easily get access to the university facilities. They live in free apartments and are taken good care of by the departments and the International Office of the university.

Foreign Teacher Recruitment Notice
Job Description
You will be teaching classes including English Compositions, American Literature, Newspaper Reading, Cross-culture Communication, Conversational English, etc. 12-16 classes a week, plus office hours and occasional lectures and recordings.
Qualifications
1. Native English speaker
2. Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred
3. Teaching certificate, 2 or more years of ESL teaching experience
4. Professional and responsible
Note: We also recruit foreign teachers of other languages, the specific requirements depend on certain department.
Salary and Benefits
Monthly salary varies from RMB5,000yuan to RMB12,000yuan (before tax), depending on the qualification and experience. Additional RMB 2,200 yuan will be given as bonus after completing one year teaching.
Travel Expense
1. The Air ticket from your home country to Chongqing for arrival shall be reimbursed at the beginning of the contract.
2. When you completes one academic year of service for SISU, we shall pay for you one-way international air ticket covering the most direct route (or lowest price ticket) from Chongqing to your home country.
Accommodation
A free apartment is provided for the teacher on campus, including air conditioning in the bedroom, a refrigerator, cooker, Internet access etc.
Physical Exam
Physical Exam is required for all applicants. It should done in their home countries first, and again in China after arrival. The later one can be reimbursed with public hospital receipt.
Health Care
SISU provides RMB 500 yuan for medical care for every foreign teacher per semester, which can be reimbursed with public hospital receipt. This is mainly for out-patient treatment. We require that all-foreign teachers be in good health, and will buy medical insurance for you in mainland China, and suggest that you buy medical insurance and life insurance at home.

The contract will initially cover one or two semesters and may be extended upon mutual agreement, please attach your resume and scanned passport with the cover letter.
