School of Foreign Languages and Literature
Qingdao University is a comprehensive key university in Shandong Province, and the first batch of applied basic talents in Shandong Province. The School of Foreign Languages was established in 2002. Its predecessor was the Department of Foreign Languages of Qingdao University in 1985. In 2015, the college became the governing unit of the “Foreign Languages Development Cooperation Forum”. In 2016, it became the governing unit of the “Language Big Data Alliance” and the first rotating chairman unit.
The college has eight undergraduate majors including English (ordinary), English (public), Japanese, Korean, German, French, Spanish (ordinary) and Spanish (Chinese-foreign cooperative education). Among them, the English major “English + Big Data” innovation experiment class, Qingdao University – Florida International University (QU-FIU) Spanish Sino-foreign cooperative education (Latin American trade direction) double degree program, English public fee teacher professional students unique. The Korean undergraduate major is a special specialty construction point of the Ministry of Education. The German major is the Shandong Provincial Government and the Bavarian State Government Education Cooperation Project. The English major is the “Key Construction Major of Key Schools” and the school-level specialty of Qingdao University.
Postgraduate education includes two types: academic degree and professional degree. Academic degree Foreign language and literature first-level disciplines include foreign linguistics and applied linguistics, English language and literature, German language and literature, Japanese language and literature, and Asian and African language and literature. point. The professional degree consists of a master’s degree in translation and a master’s degree in education (disciplinary English). The master’s degree in translation covers seven directions: English oral translation, Japanese oral translation, Korean oral translation, and German translation. Japanese language and literature is the key discipline of Shandong Province in the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan”, and foreign linguistics and applied linguistics are the key disciplines of Qingdao University during the “12th Five-Year Plan”.
The school has 141 faculty members and 123 full-time teachers, including 11 professors, 27 associate professors, 45 doctoral degree holders, 10 doctoral students, 33 masters, and 101 overseas study students. In addition, 15 foreign teachers were appointed.
The college has 2,535 full-time students, including 191 graduate students and 2,344 undergraduates. The students have achieved excellent results in the national foreign language majors in the fourth and eighth grade examinations, and have won many awards in various foreign language speech contests, oral and written translation contests, essay contests, writing contests, debate contests, calligraphy competitions, etc. In the 2018 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Qingdao Summit, Olympic Sailing Competition, Paralympic Sailing Competition, Qingdao International Beer Festival, Clipper World Sailing Competition, Asian Games, World Expo, APEC Minister and Senior Officials Meeting, International Informatization Conference, East Asian Culture They have performed well in various social events, conferences, conventions, and community volunteering services such as community and primary and secondary education. The college has established cooperation programs with teachers and students, undergraduate and master’s credit recognition, and joint training of double degrees in 28 famous universities in the United States, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Spain and other countries. Well-known universities have established extensive academic links. Undergraduate and postgraduate students have the opportunity to exchange scholarships, public pay and public pay at the domestic and foreign universities to study for six months to two years.
With the goal of cultivating foreign language talents for the development of the times, the college has delivered a large number of outstanding talents to the country and various fields of society. The college has a cooperation project between Qingdao University and Goethe-Institut in Germany – “Golden Language Center of Qingdao University”, the Overseas Examination Center of the Ministry of Education and the German Telford Examination Institute. Job Responsibilities
1. Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences;
2. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities,
3. Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for using in educational activities,
4. Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students’ varying needs;
5. Use relevant technology to support instruction,observe and evaluate student’s performance and development;
6. Assign and grade class work, tests and assignments;
7. Provide appropriate feedback on work;
8. Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.(And other duties as requested by department to develope the language skills of students and staff. For specific information contact the department directly.)
Qualification
1. A master’s degree is preferred in Language /literature/applied linguistics; A course from a Language training institute is prefered;
2. Experience of teaching university level students is preferred;
3. Excellent oral as well written Communication skills, native speaker;
4. Good interpersonal skills;
5. Ability to motivate the students.
6.No more than 60 years old.
