Introduction to Shangrao Normal University

Shangrao Normal University (SRNU) is a full-time public university in the city of Shangrao, Jiangxi Province. The predecessor of the University was the Shangrao Teachers College, which was founded in 1958. In March 2000, he was upgraded to Shangrao Normal University by the Ministry of Education and the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province.

At present, the campus covers an area of 1,116 acres, with a planned area of 1,500 acres. The total construction area of the school building is 440,800 square meters, and the number of students in the school is 14,098. There are 1,115 faculty members, including 72 professors, 255 associate professors and 188 doctors. There are 15 secondary colleges. There are teaching institutions such as modern education technology and experiment center, computer network center, library, journal editorial department and so on.

Shangrao Normal University has complete and advanced teaching and research facilities, such as digital campus network, professional laboratories, language labs, multimedia classrooms, gymnasiums, and standard plastic track and field. Till December 2018, there were 1.55 million paper books in the collection, and the total value of teaching and research instruments was 167 million yuan.

The University has continuously expanded its foreign cooperation and exchanges, and has carried out multi-channel and diversified international joint education with universities in the United States, Canada, Thailand, Malaysia, and South Korea.

After nearly 60 years, the university has a profound cultural heritage, forming a distinctive teacher-oriented, regional, multi-disciplinary school-running characteristics.

Shangrao Normal University is currently aiming at creating a first-class higher education in the province, and strives to bring up the school’s level and ensure education quality and hope to lift it to the next level.
