Zhejiang University of Water Resources and Electric Power (website) was founded in 1953 named as Hangzhou Hydropower School, and as Zhejiang Electric Power College in 1958, and then developed into Zhejiang Water Conservancy and Hydropower College with approval of Zhejiang People’s Government in 1984. It shares joint leadership and management by the Provincial Office of Water Resources and the Provincial Office of Education. After 50 years of continuous progress, especially in the past 10 years of hard work, the University has achieved remarkable successes, and formed a pretty distinctive characteristic of its schooling. College of International Education
The College of International Education of ZJWEU was established in 2010. The College has always cultivated talents with international vision, international communication skills and international competitiveness.
The college currently has more than 700 students and has 46 faculty members, including 36 full-time teachers, 2 professors and 5 associate professors. There are 2 undergraduate majors (Business English) and 2 Sino-foreign cooperative education specialties (marketing and computer information management), among which the computing information management major is the first batch of Zhejiang-China Sino-foreign cooperation model profession, and the business English major is the key construction specialty of the school.
The College and the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) jointly organized a Sino-foreign cooperative education project, and set up two Sino-foreign cooperative education projects for marketing and computer information management. Business English undergraduate majors have been enrolled since 2015, with a total enrollment of 240 students in the past three years.
The college actively promotes the internationalization of education, absorbs and utilizes high-quality educational resources at home and abroad, and adopts a diversified and open school-running model to actively build an educational internationalization platform. Currently, the college has been associated with New Zealand’s Nielsen Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT), Illinois State Governor State University, Western Illinois State University, Canada’s Red River College (Red River College), Germany Universities such as Fachhochschule Nordhessen, Gdansk University of Technology, Algonquin College, University of Greenwich, and other universities in the UK International cooperation agreement with Northeastern Illinois University, The California State University, Dresden International University, University of South Wales, etc. Universities have established inter-school exchanges.
The educational environment of Chinese and foreign cultures not only expands the students’ international horizons, but also cultivates students’ strong professional skills and intercultural communication skills, which significantly enhances their employment competitiveness. In the past five years, the graduates’ employment rate has been continuous to keep above 95%.
English Teacher Recruitment
Job Description
The role of a Foreign English teacher is to help our students speak English and improve English practical skills. Those responsibilities include preparing lessons and lesson material, teaching young adult students, holding counseling sessions, assisting colleagues, maintaining records, writing progress reports, etc. You will be working at the College of International Education, and have about 12-16 classes per week, each class for 45 minutes; there is no office hours required for this position.
Qualification
1. Master’s Degree or above
2. Have at least 2 years of English teaching experience, preferably at a university/college; TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate preferred
3. Native English speaker
4. Under 60 years old
Salary and Benefits
1. Salary: 8,000-11,000 RMB/month
2. 1100 RMB vacation allowance at the end of each semester
3. 8000 RMB flight reimbursement upon contract completion
