About Nanxiaobu Primary School

Hangzhou Nanxiaobu Primary School (http://nxbxx.jgedu.net.cn/) is located in Jianggan District. Its predecessor is Qingchunmen Primary School and is has a long history of over 70 years. In 1999, it moved to where it is now and changed the name.  The school is well equipped, and it has 22 classes and about 800 students.

The school covers an area of 9092 square meters, with a building area of 6886 square meters and a green area of 3700 square meters. There are 24 teaching classes, 866 students, 60 faculty members, including 1 foreign teacher, 17 provincial and municipal excellent teachers, 25 district and county-level outstanding teachers, accounting for 72% of all teachers.

The school develops step by step and take “foundation for the happy life of every child” as the educational concept, and implements the “3I’ international understanding course based on core literacy” to further improve the quality of the schooling and strive to achieve international level education. The goal of the school is “Happiness Nanxiao students”, that to cultivate students with good learning, diligent practice, and mindful skills.

Nanxiaobu Primary School is also a traditional sporting school in Hangzhou with speciality in chess. The school is a base school of the Hangzhou Branch of the Chinese Chess Institute. It has produced a large number of excellent chess players and sent a large number of talents to the chess institutions at all levels. Excellent achievements have been made in the national chess competitions at the provincial, municipal and district levels.

Hangzhou is a culinary paradise with a large number of delicious dishes. Hangzhou’s local cuisine enjoys a nation-wide reputation and dishes prepared in its style are reputed to be “fresh, tender, soft and smooth, with a mellow fragrance”. Some of the better-known examples of Hangzhou’s regional cuisine are: West Lake Fish in Sweet and Sour Sauce, Dongpo Pork, Beggar’s Chicken, Fried Shrimps with Longjing Tea, and Hangzhou Soy-sauce Duck. Sounds interesting? Behind these dishes, there always seems to be a beautiful story linked with a historical figure in Hangzhou. In addition to the traditional Hangzhou food or Chinese cuisine, plenty of restaurants offer south-eastern or western-style food. In Hangzhou, you never have to worry about going hungry.
